Referral Service for Patients

If you wish to seek advice or an opinion, without necessarily committing yourself to receiving treatment, then we are pleased to offer you a consultation service. If your problem is a complex one or there is a diagnostic difficulty we may need to advise a further appointment for investigations. You may feel very apprehensive about dental treatment and wish to meet us to discuss how we would help you manage that.

Second Opinion

If you are already under treatment with another practitioner and you wish to have a second opinion, you may ask your practitioner to refer you for that purpose. If you choose to refer yourself directly to us for a second opinion please make this clear when you contact our receptionist.

You may have referred yourself because you are concerned that you may have a problem (unresolved pain, discomfort, bad breath or gum problems, for example). Sometimes the issue is simple but often it is more complex when there are sometimes several options to consider. These will be discussed with you. You may wish to know whether there are different ways of managing a problem - perhaps avoiding a proposed extraction, for example.

Diagnosis and Treatment Planning

We are always happy to give advice on a difficult diagnostic problem or help with the planning of treatment . Whenever you visit us and need some treatment, an element of treatment planning is involved. With the more complex case this becomes a critical area. Treatment planning is one of the areas where we feel we have the greatest expertise. Long term success depends on good diagnosis and sound treatment planning!

Already under Treatment?

Whilst we can always give you an opinion or advice, if you are under treatment with another practitioner, we can only offer treatment in an emergency.
